We attended the Apprenticeship & Participation Event on Monday 6th February, at the Civic Offices in Bexleyheath. The event is organised by the London Borough of Bexley and is set up for young people and their parents/carers to promote Apprenticeships at all levels from Traineeships to Higher and Degree Apprenticeships, and those aged 16-24 who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET).
Dave Richardson and Sophie Murphy attended on behalf of the Purdy Build team to promote the two current Apprenticeships that are available within their team on the Bexley contract. They are currently seeking a Plumbing and a Multi-Trade apprentice. It was a fantastic turn out, there were 50 companies in attendance and over 900 families signed up to attend.
It was Sophie’s first experience of attending such an event and she got so much out if it, she also did an amazing job at representing Purdy, part of the Kinovo Group.
“I thoroughly enjoyed representing Purdy, as part of the Kinovo Group speaking to the younger potential recruits and their guardians about the prospects that Purdy have to offer.
Having been through the apprentice program myself when I was 16, I felt that I could express the full advantages of moving forward as an apprentice, as well as the tasks and responsibilities that come within the role. (Not only to the younger students but also to the parents / guardians).
It was so lovely and refreshing to see so many young people interested in what Purdy are about, what we do and what we have to offer. I’m really looking forward to the future and welcoming many new apprentices to our Purdy team.”
We had an immense amount of interest in people looking for Electrical Apprenticeships as well as Plumbing, Multi-Trade and Business Administration.
